I've got something cool to share today – Part 1 of my RAM comparison series! In this video, I've looked into gaming performance to see how much of a difference having more RAM can make.
I picked out five popular games that a lot of us enjoy:
1. Battlefield 3
2. GRID 2
3. Zombie Army Trilogy
4. F1 2014
5. DiRT 3 Complete Edition
Using my old setup with an AMD FX 6300 processor and an R7 260X graphics card (like a GTX 750Ti), I tested with 2GB and 4GB of RAM. I recorded the gameplay from each setup to compare how they performed.
RAM is like your computer's short-term memory. Having more RAM means your computer can do more things at once, making games run smoother and load faster.
But did going from 2GB to 4GB of RAM really change much in these games? You'll have to watch the video to find out!
I won't spoil the results here, but I'll say there were some surprises. Whether you're a big gamer or just play now and then, understanding how RAM affects games can help you decide if you need to upgrade your computer.
